Research Internships

Want to have a direct impact on your community with a hands-on experience? Occasionally PRWA identifies a need in our community that requires planning, research, data collection, construction skills etc. And involving local students to fill these needs is a win-win for you and PRWA! PRWA will provide support and guidance during the internship to ensure that your project will become an asset to the community. Our internship opportunities are perfect for high school students seeking to fulfill graduation requirements or those interested in environmental science. Our past internship projects have been creating and maintaining a rain garden at Bristol Eastern High School, developing a habitat map and management strategy for Kern Park, creating a composting guide, and performing various water quality surveys. Feel free to email us with questions or project ideas.

The rain garden at Bristol Eastern High School collects runoff from the school parking lot and slowly filters the water, intercepting it before it flows into a Pequabuck River tributary which runs beside the school.
